It's time we take stock of what we’ve achieved this quarter, what is still in the holding bay, and what we’ll focus on this coming quarter for our five-year plan.

We somehow find ourselves in May (…which is pretty damn hard to believe) and change seems to be in the air at Beacon Strategies. It is probably an understatement that there has been a lot happening for the Beacon Strategies team over the first 4-5 months of 2022.

With the ink still drying on our five-year strategic plan (2022 - 2027) we are now shifting gears to implementation. For many organisations, operationalising their strategic plan can be a daunting process. For us, we are keeping things as simple as humanly possible and being guided by 5 principles to help us get out of the blocks.

Our 5 year strategic plan is now ‘live’, which we are stoked about. To get things underway we’re focussing on establishing three ‘implementation enablers’ and commencing a number of key actions aligned to our three focus areas: capability, culture and contribution. 

We’re hoping that BeaconHQ will be different. Rather than taking the shape of a traditional ‘company intranet’ we are taking the path of launching a ‘company wiki’. Those familiar with Wikipedia will understand that it has many contributors, knowledge is sourced from the crowd and the content is reviewed and scrutinised by peers and moderators. 

Heading into the back end of 2021 we have been fortunate enough to have exceeded our expectations, delivering on meaningful projects, achieving financial sustainability, scaling up our team and having the opportunity to answer the question ‘where do we see ourselves as an organisation in the next five years?’
