Local Area Needs Assessment Engagement Project: West Moreton HHS
Status: Current - expected to be completed by April 2022
Client: West Moreton HHS
Background
All QLD Hospital and Health Services (HHS) are required to develop a local health needs assessment and plan in partnership with the primary care sector, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled health organisations, other local partners and consumers.
HHS’s in Queensland have been requested to perform the local area needs assessment (LANA) for their jurisdictions and publish a report on community health needs, service needs and gaps.
The LANA will include a detailed assessment of health needs, based on data analysis across multiple domains, as well as consultation with local stakeholders, clinicians, consumers and health organisations.
WMH’s LANA will be developed for the population of West Moreton within the geographic boundaries of West Moreton Hospital and Health Service (WMH) in partnership with Darling Downs West Moreton Primary Health Network (DDWM PHN).
Approach
This project will see Beacon Strategies leading and facilitating the engagement component of WMH’s LANA. The project will involve engagement with consumers and community stakeholders, as well as collating and analysing existing consultation data and resources to inform the development of an engagement summary report that identifies initial areas of need.
It is anticipated that the final product of this project will act as a key document in WMH’s LANA, which is intended to inform future health service planning and improvement initiatives undertaken by WMH and support the achievement of WMH’s strategic vision.
